Nahan is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant in Minnesota to support the maintenance team in keeping the facility, grounds, and equipment safe and well-maintained. You will perform basic repairs and assist with improvements as directed to sustain efficient operations.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools, and strong safety awareness. On-the-job training will be provided to develop skills and contribute to 6S initiatives.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous maintenance or custodial experience preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Mansioni

• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
• Perform basic building maintenance tasks, including painting, minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, and general repairs.
• Support preventative maintenance programs for facility equipment and systems.
• Assist with grounds maintenance, including snow removal, lawn care, and keeping walkways clear and safe.
• Maintain cleanliness of maintenance areas, storage rooms, and facility grounds.
• Help move equipment, furniture, and materials as needed.
• Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist outside contractors and vendors when performing work onsite.
• Follow all Nahan safety and quality standards.
• Support 6S initiatives as required.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Wage Range: $20-23

Job Summary

A Building Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance team by helping maintain the facility, grounds, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. This position performs basic building repairs, preventative maintenance activities, and assists with facility improvements as directed.

Skills And Abilities Required

• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous maintenance, custodial, construction, or related experience strongly preferred
• On-the-job training provided.

This job operates in a Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift up to 50lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The noise level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
