Job description

BPR Consulting Group (www.bpr-grp.com) is seeking experienced Building Inspectors to join our growing company and serve our clients in the South East Los Angeles County area. We have an immediate opening for a part-time position. Bilingual in Spanish is required.

The successful candidates must possess the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain professional working relationships with clients, coworkers, and permit applicants. A strong construction background and a desire to gain building code knowledge is essential to the success of the selected individuals.

  • Perform field inspections of industrial, commercial, and residential buildings during various stages of construction to verify compliance with applicable California Building Codes and approved project documents.
  • Issue written correction notices as required.
  • Maintain basic record-keeping practices.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Perform all work consistent with BPR’s and clients’ policies and procedures.
  • Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client-focused manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three (3) plus years as a building inspector or building plans examiner for a local or state building department or equivalent related experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of building inspection and construction processes.
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of building codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Good driving record.

Certification Requirements:

  • ICC Building Inspector and/or ICC Residential Building Inspector certification.

Compensation:

This part-time position has a salary range of $25-40 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and certifications.
