Job summary

The Staff Pad is partnering with a veteran-owned company to recruit a meticulous Building Inspector for residential, commercial, and energy services in the DFW Metroplex. You will evaluate structures, review plans, conduct inspections, document findings, and ensure compliance with building codes and engineering specifications.

This role requires on-site inspections, accurate reports, clear communication with contractors and customers, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Residential Combo Inspector license required or to be obtained
• Maintain licenses and CEUs
• Experience in building inspection or code compliance
• Knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and engineering specifications
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Valid driver’s license

This Building Inspector is responsible forevaluating structures, reviewing building plans, conducting inspections,documenting findings, and ensuring projects meet applicable building codes andengineering specifications

What You'll Do

As a Building Inspector, you will help ensure thesafety and quality of residential and construction projects by conductingon-site inspections, verifying work against approved plans, preparing detailedreports, and communicating findings to relevant parties.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewbuilding plans and project specifications prior to inspections
• Performbuilding inspections to verify construction matches approved plans andapplicable code requirements
• Evaluatethe structural quality and soundness of buildings and constructionprojects
• Documentinspection findings with detailed notes and appropriate photographs
• Prepareand enter inspection reports accurately and thoroughly
• Reviewreports for accuracy and completeness prior to submissionEnsureall required inspection reports are submitted daily
• Followall company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and professionalstandards

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• Obtainand maintain a Residential Combo Inspector License, if not alreadylicensed
• Maintainrequired licenses and complete applicable continuing education/CEUs
• Buildinginspection experience or related construction/code compliance experiencepreferred
• Knowledgeof building codes, construction practices, and engineering specifications
• Abilityto read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle requirements
