Building Inspector II

The City of Corona has an exciting opportunity to join our Planning and Development Department as a Building Inspector II.

The Planning and Development Department includes the Planning Division, Development Services Division, and Plan Check and Inspections Division. The department uses advanced technology to meet service demands related to development permit applications and uses data to measure performance, ensuring timely processing of permits.

Position Details

• Salary: $5,810 - $7,062 / Monthly (initial), with scheduled increases in January 2026 and 2027
• Number of Vacancies: 1

Knowledge & Education

• Completion of twelfth grade
• Knowledge of building construction, inspection practices, codes, and safety standards

Skills & Abilities

• Perform inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Review construction blueprints and plans for compliance
• Identify and address code violations and faulty workmanship

Experience & Licenses

• Building Inspector I: 2 years of relevant experience or as a contractor
• Building Inspector II: 2 years of responsible inspection experience
• Valid ICC Building Inspector Certificate

Additional Information
