Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of related experience preferred.
• ICC Residential and Commercial Inspector Certifications or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; understands local codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of commercial and residential sites per approved plans.
• Document non-compliance in inspection reports and notify contractors/homeowners.
• Use LAMA and Bluebeam for permitting, inspections, and plan reviews.
• Inspect apartment units for property maintenance code compliance and safety.
• Respond to maintenance complaints and issue violation notices.
• Enforce zoning ordinances and address illegal home occupations.
• Investigate unauthorized construction and coordinate with the Chief Building Official.
• Represent the City professionally and maintain public trust.
