The City of Wylie Building Division is seeking a person to fulfill the role of Building Inspector. The selected applicant will perform inspections for residential and commercial construction to ensure compliance with codes and zoning ordinances.
Supervision is provided by the Chief Building Official.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License. Must have Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire. Driving record must be in compliance with City policy. Certification(s) as a Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, or Combination Inspector by International Code Council (ICC) preferred. Other nationally recognized Code Body certifications may be considered. Must have six months extensive working knowledge of residential building construction including heating/air conditioning and plumbing systems. Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.
