Job summary

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent will be considered.
• HS Diploma required.
• Minimum of 2 years previous relevant work experience is required.
• State Plumbing Inspector certification is required within 12 months of hire date.
• Licensed Plumbing Inspector preferred, Class C Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Enforces city ordinances and building codes; conducts inspections for new constructions.

Building Inspector functions include but are not limited to the following.

Inspections and Enforcement: Enforces city ordinances, focusing particularly on building codes. Performs inspections on new constructions to ensure compliance with ICC and IRC regulations.
Responds to community complaints, investigate, and take appropriate action.
Community Interaction: Assist contractors, citizens, and developers with pre-construction planning and other building-related questions. Address incoming calls, emails, and voicemails, even those outside the immediate job scope.
Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

SALARY:

Hiring range - $59,336- $63,490 ($28.53 - $30.53)
Salary range - $59,336 - $84,258

**Salary is dependent on qualifications and certifications**

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Experience Minimum of 2 years previous relevant work experience is required.

Certifications State Plumbing Inspector certification is required within 12 months of hire date.
