The role focuses on inspecting homes and apartments, identifying deficiencies, and proposing cost-effective repairs to keep properties in good condition. The ideal candidate has several years of building inspection or construction management experience, is proficient with computers and mobile devices, holds a valid driver's license and insurance, and communicates clearly with

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years in Building Inspection or Construction Management.
• Proficient with computers and mobile devices.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and current insurance.

• Must pass pre-employment criminal and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Interim inspections of occupied units to identify maintenance or capital repair deficiencies.
• Construction & draw inspections to verify progress and release payments.
• Move in/out inspections as needed for readiness and turnover.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Managers and Leasing Specialists to track completed work and inspections.
• Share findings with property owners and explain major repair items proposed.

Building Inspector - Residential Housing

Pittsburgh and Surrounding area

Arbors Management Inc. has an opening for a full-time Building Inspector. This person will work with our Scattered Site Housing Team to manage the inspections of homes and apartments throughout the Pittsburgh and surrounding area. The goal of this position is to quickly identify unit and property deficiencies and to come up with cost effective repair solutions. Knowledge of housing codes in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington and Butler counties is preferred.

As the Building Inspector, you will be responsible for the following:

• Interim Inspections - Inspecting an occupied unit making note of any maintenance or capital repair deficiencies, housekeeping issues or other management related issues
• Construction & Draw Inspections - Inspecting on-going construction progress to verify work is being satisfactorily completed so payment can be released
• Move In / Out Inspections - As needed to assist with the inspection of recently vacated units or to confirm a unit is ready for move-in
• Coordinate with our Portfolios Managers and Leasing Specialists to ensure the team knows when work or inspections are completed
• Share findings of inspections with property owners to explain any major repair items that are being suggested

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years working in a Building Inspection or Construction Management position
• Must be proficient with computers and mobile devices
