Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• A certificate or degree in Inspection Technology is desirable.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience as a Building Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate, train and coordinate building inspectors.
• Perform difficult or problem inspections and plan checks.
• Oversee enforcement of Building Code and related codes and statutes.
• Review inspectors' reports and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate automated building permit systems and budgeting input.
• Provide staff training on inspection methods and code interpretation.
