Job summary

Reporting to a Division Manager, you will manage budgets, field inspections, plan reviews, and customer outreach, while promoting remote and in-person coordination with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school education or G.E.D. required.
• Five (5) years of building inspection experience.
• Two (2) years performing work of a similar nature and level as a Building Inspector Supervisor with the City of San Jose.
• Valid California driver’s license and inspector certification in the discipline(s) being managed.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates field inspection operations; manages inspection projects through subordinate supervisors.
• Analyzes fee structures and workload data; proposes changes based on cost and performance trends.
• Enforces adopted codes and regulations; interprets code in case of conflicts between inspectors and contractors.
