Job summary

Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking a Building & Grounds Utility Worker to perform routine custodial duties and specialized grounds maintenance. You will operate and service mechanical systems and related equipment on a full-time, year-round basis in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Hours are 8 per day, 5 days a week, with a salary range of $23.56 to $28.65 per hour. A high school diploma is required; two years of related experience preferred, and a Pesticide Applicators License is desirable.

Under general supervision performs routine custodial duties and specialized grounds maintenance; operates and services mechanical systems, and performs related work as required.

Application Deadline: September 3, 2026

Work Months: 12

Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week

Salary: $23.56 to 28.65/hour

Distinguishing Characteristics

This position is characterized by a wide variety of duties - a combination of custodian, grounds person, and maintenance-type functions. A higher degree of technical skills and abilities for operation and limited maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment is required than found in other maintenance classes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two years of experience in custodial, gardening, grounds, maintenance, or related work.


• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.


• Pesticide Applicators License with proper endorsements desirable.

Upon Conditional Offer of Employment

DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check

TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)

Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.

Pre-Employment Physical Evaluation conducted through the District (Minimum 50 pounds)
