Robins & Morton is seeking a Building Envelope Manager to assist the Senior Building Envelope Risk Manager by leading risk mitigation, reviewing drawings, coordinating with trade partners, and overseeing enclosure testing on large healthcare and commercial projects in Florida.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, 10+ years of experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a willingness to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in building envelope work for a specialty contractor, manufacturer, or consultant.
  • Experience on large commercial and/or healthcare projects.
  • Must be a Florida resident or willing to relocate to Florida.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings and specifications to assess completeness and congruency.
  • Perform condition assessments of building enclosure systems.
  • Lead meetings with trade partners, architects, and team members.
  • Review submittals to ensure alignment with contract documents.
  • Coordinate submittals and manage interfacing tasks.
  • Identify building enclosure issues and recommend repairs.
  • Oversee enclosure testing activities on site.
  • Travel to jobsites for walk-throughs and testing.

The Building Envelope Manager assists the Senior Building Envelope Risk Manager by providing exceptional expertise and service to our projects and clients. Specifically, the Building Envelope Manager will contribute to the projects by leading the mitigation of risks through excellent communication of best industry practices, from design review through construction execution.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job)
  • Review architectural drawings and specifications to assess completeness, general congruency of information, and
  • On occasion, perform condition assessments of building enclosure systems.
  • Lead meetings with trade partners, architects, and other team members with a collaborative approach.
  • Review shop drawings and product data submittals to determine completeness and adherence with Contract Documents.
  • Coordinate submittals of interfacing
  • Manage project tasks and priorities utilizing organizational
  • Identify or confirm building enclosure issues/problems and make formal recommendations for the most effective and efficient repair for jobsite teams.
  • Oversee enclosure testing activities performed by team members.
  • Travel to jobsites and conduct walk-throughs, observe testing, and meet with team
  • Communicate effectively with department and jobsite personnel
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job)
  • Preferably, a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • At least ten (10) years of experience demonstrating advanced technical capability in building envelope work for a specialty contractor, manufacturer, or consultant.
  • Experience working on large commercial and/or healthcare projects
  • Current Florida resident or willingness to relocate to Florida
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Working knowledge of moisture movement
  • Experience working with building envelope trades
  • Experience with leak investigation
  • Demonstrate effective use of technology, including Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
  • Exhibit integrity and positive attitude
  • Experience writing field reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu software is a plus
  • Thermography experience is a plus
  • Field water testing experience is a plus
  • Preferably, served in the capacity of Building Envelope Observer on an R&M project
  • Preferably, an Industry Association membership
