Our client, a well-established Architectural and Engineering Consulting firm with over 40 years of experience in the building enclosure industry, is seeking a Building Envelope Field Technician to join their growing team in the Atlanta area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in commercial construction, inspections, roofing, waterproofing, or building systems who enjoys hands-on field work and wants to build a long-term career within the building enclosure and building science sector.
Responsibilities
Building Envelope Field Technician
Atlanta, GA | Hybrid Full-Time
- Perform construction site inspections and field observations on active projects.
- Conduct condition assessments of existing buildings and structures.
- Assist with investigations of roofing, façade, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.
- Perform drone surveys, infrared moisture surveys, electronic leak detection, diagnostic water testing, and other building performance evaluations.
- Document field observations and prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables and project documentation.
- Maintain construction issue logs and project records.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with project managers, consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, construction inspection, roofing, waterproofing, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working on commercial construction job sites.
- Strong interest in building science, building enclosures, and construction quality.
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience within a professional services or consulting environment is beneficial.
- Valid driver's license required.
- References and successful completion of a background check required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform inspections of buildings and construction sites.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
- Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other access equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry testing equipment and materials.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to travel to project locations throughout Georgia.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 25% travel throughout Georgia.
- Occasional overnight travel required.
- All business-related travel expenses reimbursed.
