Job summary

UES, Inc. in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Building Envelope Inspector to perform field inspections of roofing, waterproofing, air/vapor barriers, and cladding on new construction, renovations, and restorations.

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of envelope inspection experience, ability to read drawings and specifications, familiarity with IBC/ASTM/ABAA codes, and a valid driver's license for travel to site locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in construction technology, architecture, or engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in building envelope inspections, QA/QC, or materials testing.
• Knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, curtain wall systems, insulation, and air/vapor barriers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, product specs, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the installation of building envelope systems across construction phases, including roofing, waterproofing, curtain walls, and fenestrations.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes (IBC, ASTM, ABAA, etc.), and manufacturer installation standards.
• Identify workmanship issues and communicate corrective actions to project teams.
• Perform field testing such as adhesion testing, water infiltration testing, or infrared thermography (if qualified).
• Maintain thorough field notes, photographic documentation, and inspection reports for each visit.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and design professionals to resolve non-conformance issues.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and product data related to envelope systems for QA.
• Participate in pre-installation meetings and punch list walkthroughs to support envelope integrity throughout project life cycle.
• Stay up to date with current envelope technologies, materials, and testing protocols.
• Promote and enforce job site safety procedures and use of PPE.
