Job summary

UES is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to lead design, specifications, and project management for roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration systems. You will guide projects from schematic design through construction administration and collaborate with owners, consultants, and contractors.

The role requires hands-on field assessments, drawing reviews, and coordination across internal teams to ensure quality and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (required).
• 5+ years in building envelope design, inspections, or QA/QC.
• Professional Engineer or AIA license required.
• Ability to sign and seal drawings (license).
• Strong knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration.

Responsibilities

• Support building envelope design across all phases of projects from schematic through Construction Administration.
• Define performance criteria for roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration systems.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for envelope systems.
• Ensure drawings are accurate and coordinated with specifications.
• Review submittals and shop drawings, including roof drainage calculations.
• Manage projects from start to finish, including RFIs, addenda, and meetings with owners/contractors/architects.
