Job summary

UES is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to lead design support and full lifecycle project management for building envelope systems. You will guide projects from schematic design through construction administration, coordinating with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors.

The role requires a strong background in roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration, plus ability to sign/seal drawings as a licensed professional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in building envelope design, inspections, QA/QC, or materials testing.
• Professional Engineer or AIA (Registered Architect) required.
• Licensed professional with the ability to sign and seal drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support building envelope design across all phases from Schematic Design to Construction Administration.
• Conceptualize design solutions and define performance criteria for roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate technical specifications for roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration systems.
• Ensure drawings are accurate and coordinate with specifications; review submittals and shop drawings.
• Define and evaluate roof-related mock-ups, develop system drawings, and communicate design intent to clients.
