Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to lead design support, specifications, and project management from schematic design through construction administration.

You will collaborate with internal teams, owners, and contractors to ensure quality drawings and successful project delivery. This role requires 5+ years in building envelope work, licensure to sign drawings, and strong knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, and fenestration systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is required.
• 5+ years of building envelope design, inspections, building construction, QA/QC, or materials testing experience.
• Professional Engineer or AIA (Registered Architect) required; licensure to sign and seal drawings.
• Strong knowledge of building envelope systems: roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, fenestration.
• Experience drafting technical specifications and reviewing construction documents.
• Ability to manage multiple projects from concept through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Support building envelope design across all phases from schematic design to construction administration.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate technical specifications for roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration.
• Review submittals and shop drawings, including roof drainage calculations.
• Coordinate with CAD operators to develop roof plans and details.
• Manage projects from start to finish, including bidding, RFIs, addenda, and OCA meetings.
• Conduct field assessments and site visits, and communicate design intent to stakeholders.
