Job summary

TYG, a fast-growing Architecture and Engineering firm in New York City, is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join our team. You will work on high-profile projects across residential, commercial, cultural, and institutional buildings, conducting investigations, reporting, and design development.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and PMs to deliver practical solutions. You will stay current with NYC regulations such as Local Law 11 (FISP) and contribute to restoration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or Engineering required.
• Minimum three years in building envelope consulting or related practice.
• Familiarity with NYC façade rules (FISP / Local Law 11) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform façade and roof investigations, condition assessments, leak investigations, and field inspections.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical drawings, and repair or replacement recommendations.
• Develop design documents for façade, roofing, waterproofing, and building envelope systems.
• Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review, submittals, RFIs, and site observations.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to deliver practical solutions.
• Stay current with NYC regulations including Local Law 11 (FISP) and other building code requirements.

I am currently partnering with a fast-growing Architecture and Engineering firm in New York City that is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join their team.

This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from high-rise residential towers to commercial, cultural, and institutional buildings while gaining exposure to some of the most challenging and rewarding restoration and design work in the city.

What You’ll Do

• Perform façade and roof investigations, condition assessments, leak investigations, and field inspections
• Prepare detailed reports, technical drawings, and repair or replacement recommendations
• Develop design documents for façade, roofing, waterproofing, and building envelope systems
• Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review, submittals, RFIs, and site observations
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to deliver practical and innovative solutions
• Stay current with NYC regulations including FISP (Local Law 11) and other building code requirements

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or Engineering
• Minimum of three years of experience in building envelope consulting, façade restoration, roofing, or related practice
• Knowledge of NYC façade rules including FISP or Local Law 11 is highly desirable
• Strong technical writing, detailing, and communication skills
• Professional licenses such as RA, PE, or QEWI are a plus but not required, and support will be provided toward licensure
