Workforce Coordinator Team Lead at Tradesmen International

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor – Building Engineer to lead and support the skilled maintenance and repair operations of HVAC and related systems. This role involves supervising personnel, managing work orders, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in HVAC systems and a strong ability to manage both people and projects efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 5–7 years of relevant hands-on experience in HVAC and building systems maintenance
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and building automation
• Proven leadership skills in a supervisory capacity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related software (e.g., Banner)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise HVAC staff in the installation, repair, monitoring, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee HVAC, plumbing, and building automation projects
• Work directly with contractors; request, review, and process quotes and invoices
• Maintain and operate central plant systems, including chillers, boilers, and cooling towers
• Review work orders before and after completion; set task priorities based on oral or written requests
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and best practices
• Keep accurate records of parts, materials, timekeeping, and employee performance
• Serve as a subject matter expert, advising on technical procedures and troubleshooting complex issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• In-depth understanding of industry standards, codes, policies, and procedures
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective time management and multitasking capabilities
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Competence in preparing detailed reports and documentation

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Handling moderate-weight tools and equipment
• Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry equipment
• Exposure to moderate levels of physical risk (e.g., mechanical systems, elevated surfaces)
