Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated candidate with experience in HVAC and plumbing to join our team at our dynamic sports and entertainment arena. This role will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, and optimization of HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all staff, events, and guests.

This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00-$25.00

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until August 1, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Monitor and control climate conditions throughout the arena, adjusting settings as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to coordinate HVAC services related to scheduled events, ensuring all systems are operational before, during, and after all events.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of HVAC supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency HVAC repair needs and unexpected system failures.
  • Assist in upgrading and installing new HVAC systems as required
  • Maintain and make repairs to the venue as assigned.
  • Serve asteamrepresentative for the Moody Center when scheduledaslead for assigned events.
  • Ensure all electrical workcomplies withlocal, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays,andextended (long) workdays for an extended number of days as needed.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from variousheights,lifting 50+ pounds,sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises,andextensive walking through the building.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in HVAC preferred.
  • Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools related to HVAC work.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations regarding HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary for event schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other materials.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management, and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to operate light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, or other light power-driven equipment.
  • Ability to operate monitoring controls and a personal computer (light use) using the 24/7 Work Order System, Windows, Microsoft Office software, and email.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Experience in stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers is preferred.
