Qualifications

  • Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet physical requirements of the role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC infrastructure (rooftop units and controls).
  • Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, drywall, painting, and lighting ballast replacements.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs to meet service life expectations.
  • Manage and complete work orders with proper documentation and resolution.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems to meet codes and safety regulations.
  • Participate in the site's energy management program to optimize efficiency.
  • Adhere to policies for hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Apply standard principles to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values while building consensus.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of essential building infrastructure across our large-scale hospital campus in Denton, TX. We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled professional with a strong background in commercial HVAC systems and a commitment to operational excellence.

In this position, you will serve as a key contributor for facilities maintenance needs, requiring a balance of technical expertise and the interpersonal skills necessary to provide top-tier service to our hospital clients.

What You’ll Do:
  • Prioritize the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical HVAC infrastructure, including rooftop units and associated controls.

  • Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, drywall work, painting, and lighting ballast replacements.

  • Execute both routine preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their expected service life.

  • Efficiently manage and complete assigned work orders, ensuring documentation and resolution meet department standards.

  • Maintain and repair mechanical, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems to ensure the facility adheres to all relevant building codes and safety regulations.

  • Actively participate in the site’s energy management program to ensure all building systems operate at peak efficiency.

  • Strictly adhere to departmental policies regarding the storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.

  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.

  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
