As a client-facing member of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, fire safety, and plumbing, document tasks in the CMMS, and uphold CBRE safety and service standards while coaching colleagues and supporting continuous facility operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school with 4-5 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet physical requirements of the role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and safety of critical building systems and infrastructure within a large dynamic hospital environment in Bismarck, ND on our 1st shift. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong commitment to patient safety, operational excellence, and a client-facing approach.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including the replacement of large-scale filtration systems and motors.
• Conduct regular inspections of critical building systems fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and maintains client-prescribed environmental conditions.
• Execute assigned work orders and monthly preventive maintenance tasks accurately and efficiently using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
• Collaborate with the on-site engineering team to provide comprehensive support for a variety of facility maintenance needs, ensuring seamless building operations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including working at heights (ladder climbing) and maneuvering heavy equipment, while upholding strict adherence to healthcare facility safety standards.
• Maintain a professional, service-oriented demeanor as the primary point of contact for client interactions, addressing concerns and providing updates on maintenance status as needed.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
