Job summary

Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer in Washington, DC.

You will oversee the operations, maintenance and repair of boiler and auxiliary equipment, HVAC, lighting, electrical and control systems, and support building water treatment and life safety programs. The role reports to the Chief Engineer, requires 5+ years’ experience in commercial/government buildings, and entails occasional long hours and weekends with strict safety compliance and documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience maintaining equipment and systems in commercial or government buildings.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of engineering and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Controls the daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the plant and buildings.
• Performs maintenance and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, Life Safety, and Controls systems.
• Monitors refrigeration, boilers, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pumps, valves, piping and filters; changes bulbs and ballasts.
• Performs advanced troubleshooting of MEP systems with little supervision.
• Completes tenant service requests accurately and with minimal disruptions.
• Maintains maintenance logs and records.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
• Complies with all policies and procedures; adheres to safety standards.
• May work long hours occasionally and on weekends.
• Participates in emergency response procedures and safety training.
• Uses proper safety equipment; performs all work safely.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREDKNOWLEDGEANDEXPERIENCE:
