Job summary

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer to support the daily operations of all building systems. This includes HVAC, electrical and plumbing maintenance, responding to customer requests, and closing work orders.

Location is 1600 Market Street, Philadelphia; second shift availability is required. The role requires experience with building utilities, system troubleshooting, and collaboration with the engineering team to ensure safe, reliable

Qualifications

• Experience commensurate with the specific facility; 5+ years in engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems knowledge.
• Current state/local Stationary Engineer and HVAC licenses.
• OSHA ACM awareness training as required.
• Energy conservation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs buildings, utilities, grounds and equipment.
• Optimize HVAC, electrical and plumbing system repairs; troubleshoot efficiently.
• Maintains continuous operation of equipment by troubleshooting and repairing.
• Provide hands-on training and collaboration to other engineering team members.
• Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement.
• Records data in building logbooks and makes daily entries.
• Conducts utility and equipment tests and records data per codes.
• Process administrative paperwork per departmental policies.
• Actively functions as a team member.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality of service; follows safety programs.
• Maintains regular attendance and supports tenants and staff.
• Participate in communication with Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer and management.
• Willing to work OT shifts covering tenant events; team player.

Job description

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer. The Building Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Engineer will also respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Must be available second shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and performs repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds and equipment.
• Optimize the repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. Uses and helps provide best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems so that problems are resolved in the most efficient and effective manner.
• Maintains continuous operations of equipment by trouble‑shooting and repairing.
• Provide hands‑on training and collaboration to other engineering team members.
• Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
• Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes all appropriate daily entries.
• Conducts utility and equipment tests.
• Records pertinent data on all equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
• Process administrative paperwork in accordance to departmental policies and procedures.
• Actively functions as a team member.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
• Complies with ABM Engineering Services and facilities’ policies and procedures.
• Complies and participates with ABM Engineering Services safety program.
• Complies and participates in facility specific safety program.
• Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
• Provides highest quality of service to the tenants, staff and visitors at the facility.
• Participate in regular required communication with Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, management, tenants and other staff.
• Customer Service, willing to work OT shifts covering tenant events, team player, this is a very close team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience that is commensurate with the specific facility for the position of Engineer
• 5+; years in the position of engineer
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• As required, highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license
• Computer skills and building automation systems experience required
• Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required
• Working knowledge of energy conservation required, formal training preferred
