Job summary

Job Description:
The Role

As a key member of Fidelity’s engineering operations team, you will oversee, manage, and implement all critical maintenance activities and be directly responsible for the uptime of the facility or campus.

The Data Center Maintenance Engineer shares expertise and guidance for the Engineering department to maintain all HVAC, mechanical equipment, and generators on campus.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Licensed Electrician or HVAC, pipefitter, plumbing credentials, or EPA certification.
  • The ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to install, repair, and maintain mechanical and plumbing systems according to standards, codes, and industry practices.
  • Motivated by understanding the critical impact of your work on business operations.
  • Enthusiastic team player within a team of 8 engineers, committed to engineering excellence and workplace maintenance.
  • Proficiency in PC applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized and diligent in balancing maintenance priorities.
  • Collaborative work style with strong contribution skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical or HVAC and Mechanical industry standards, protocols, and best practices, including knowledge of heating, cooling, server, database, and network infrastructure in large-scale data centers.
  • Performs preventive and remedial maintenance on building systems to ensure critical electrical distribution, UPS, generator systems, and climate control meet operational needs with minimal business impact.
  • Monitors multiple building systems, performs BAS adjustments, and responds effectively to emergencies.
  • Coordinates with vendors and contractors during repair activities.
  • Provides assistance to engineering staff as needed.
  • Uses tools, procedures, and communicates effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintains daily logs and updates engineering staff via email.
  • Supports department projects, plans, and improvements.
  • Supports Fidelity’s ISO-14001, ISO-27001, and SSAE-16/18 compliance requirements.
  • Switches to standby generators and bypasses UPS systems during electrical failures, following procedures and communicating actions.
  • Completes critical maintenance tasks timely and with attention to detail.
