Job summary

Process Alliance seeks a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to serve as the building engineer for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will maintain HVAC, purified water, and steam systems, diagnose issues, and lead capital projects to upgrade equipment.

Collaboration with engineering, facilities, maintenance, operations, quality, and validation ensures GMP-compliant project execution. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 3+ years in regulated

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting facility systems, utilities, maintenance engineering, manufacturing support, or capital projects.
  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own building systems and critical utilities as the engineering owner.
  • Provide technical support for HVAC, purified water, steam, and other facility utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with maintenance personnel to resolve equipment failures and improve system reliability.
  • Manage capital projects including equipment replacements, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements from planning through completion.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, facilities, maintenance, operations, quality, and validation teams.
  • Support equipment installations, startup activities, commissioning, and implementation of new systems.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with GMP requirements, site procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, project records, equipment specifications, and change control documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to serve as the building engineer responsible for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role will be accountable to manufacturing stakeholders for maintaining the building's systems including HVAC, purified water, and steam systems. The engineer will diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues and work with on-site maintenance personnel to repair. The engineer will be responsible for managing capital projects to improve or replace equipment. The engineer will partner closely with engineering, facilities, maintenance, operations, quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
