Job summary

CV LOGISTICS LTD. is seeking a seasoned Building Engineer/Lead Technician to oversee HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in California commercial facilities. The role ensures reliability, safety, and proactive maintenance coordination.

You will read drawings, prepare statements of work and cost estimates, supervise technicians, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with facility teams to meet tight schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with vocational training or equivalent of 5 years related experience.
• Minimum of five years as building engineer, supervisor, or lead technician in large facilities.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment schedules.
• Develop statements of work, cost estimates, and construction documents.
• Manage repair and maintenance of plumbing and HVAC systems within a CMMS environment.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Collaborate with end-users and building occupants to resolve issues.

Job description

High School Diploma or GED and trade school diploma with specialized vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the plumbing, electrical or general construction fields is required, or equivalent of 5 years of job-related experience.

Prior Work Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a building engineer, supervisor, or lead technician at commercial buildings, corporate campuses, hospitals, manufacturing plant, office buildings, or large university / school. The work experience must demonstrate a progression in increased responsibility throughout the career, including developing statements of work, construction documents, cost estimates, management, repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems that are incorporated into a CMMS system. Prior supervisory experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

• Incumbent must be able to read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical layout drawings, riser diagrams, piping schematics, equipment schedules, and as-built drawings. Must have knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and other construction documents
• Reading and working from sketches, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, one-line diagrams and material lists.
• Ability to identify problems or dangers, report issues and provide solution.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to answer queries from end-users.
• Ability to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule.
• A flexible approach to work shifts and answer emergency calls at all hours.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and prior CMMS experience preferred
• Organizational skills with an inquisitive attitude.
