Shepherd Center is seeking a Building Engineer to support daily maintenance and engineering tasks at our Atlanta campus. The role emphasizes proactive upkeep, problem-solving, and collaboration with teams to uphold facility safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in plant maintenance, with strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems, plus the ability to read blueprints and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Five years of plant maintenance experience including chillers, boilers, and HVAC.
• Knowledge of plumbing repairs and basic electrical repairs.
• Ability to read procedure documents and blueprints.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preventative maintenance, repair or fabrication of equipment for the Center.
• Performs plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC mechanical work, carpentry, door/locks, and building rounds.
• Occasionally works overtime and weekends.

The Building Engineer practices proactive maintenance to ensure that the Center remains in excellent condition. In this hands-on role, the Building Engineer will have the opportunity to interact with individuals throughout the Center, utilizing problem-solving skills. This position requires an enthusiastic and diligent individual.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe Building Engineer performs various duties to ensure the proper upkeep of Shepherd Center Accountabilities:Assists efforts which promote solutions for preventative maintenance, repair, or fabrication of equipment needed for the Center.Performs plumbing, simple electrical, HVAC mechanical equipment, carpentry, door/locks, building round and other duties assignedOccasionally works overtime and weekends.REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.
