Job summary

The California Energy Commission seeks a Compliance & Enforcement Specialist to support building energy code compliance and enforcement, with a focus on Title 20 and Title 24, Part 6, in the Office of Compliance Assistance and Enforcement. This is an Electric Generation System Specialist I state classification.

The role involves direct interaction with AHJs, building owners, contractors, energy consultants, and attorneys to advance energy efficiency programs from the Sacramento office.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Title 20 energy efficiency regulations.
• Knowledge of Title 24, Part 6 energy code requirements.
• Enforcement methodologies for building standards.
• Knowledge of legal and case management basics.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and firmly.
• Comfort negotiating with executives and attorneys.
• Ability to collaborate across groups and stakeholders.
• Strong writing and recommendation skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with AHJs, consumers, building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders on Building Energy Code compliance and enforcement.
• Focus on Title 20 (Benchmarking) and Title 24, Part 6 (Building Energy Code).
• Provide guidance and enforcement support to implement California's Building Energy Code requirements.
