Job summary

Group14 Engineering is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Manager to lead enclosure projects across Colorado and neighboring states. The role combines field work with design reviews, focusing on energy-efficient building performance and practical problem-solving.

You will manage scope, schedule, and budget, perform field observations and testing, and communicate with owners and design professionals to achieve successful outcomes. This is a full-time, hybrid position from our Denver office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent AEC industry experience will also be considered
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in building enclosure design, construction, commissioning, consulting, or testing
  • Strong knowledge of building science principles, enclosure systems, construction practices, and common failure mechanisms across varied building types and climate zones
  • Experience performing technical reviews of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and enclosure details
  • Experience performing or overseeing building enclosure field observations and performance testing, including whole-building airtightness testing, water penetration testing, infrared thermography, and air/water/thermal barrier inspections
  • Familiarity with IECC, IBC, ASTM, and AAMA
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and client expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work in hybrid environment
  • Ability to travel across Colorado’s Front Range up to 10%
  • Professional credentials such as PE, EIT, RA, LEED AP or BECxP

Responsibilities

  • Manage building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and testing projects from planning through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, coordination, and deliverables
  • Plan, coordinate, perform, and oversee technical components of new and existing building enclosure projects with minimal oversight
  • Perform hands-on field work, including enclosure inspections, air leakage testing, water penetration testing, infrared thermography, electronic leak detection, and other enclosure performance verification
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and enclosure details, and provide recommendations based on building science principles and good construction practices
  • Evaluate enclosure performance through field observations, testing, condition assessments and leak investigations
  • Lead technical problem-solving and development of practical enclosure solutions, with support from senior staff as needed
  • Develop or contribute to building enclosure basis-of-design documents, Owner’s Project Requirements, BECx plans, testing specifications, commissioning documentation, and other technical deliverables
  • Lead or participate in design, construction, and commissioning meetings related to building enclosure systems
  • Manage construction-phase enclosure activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, issue tracking, and coordination of corrective work
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and other project documentation
  • Communicate directly with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to coordinate work, resolve issues, and support successful project outcomes
  • Proactively identify enclosure-related risks, anticipate project needs, and identify opportunities
  • Be part of a fun, engaged team of building enclosure professionals focused on improving the built environment

Our Building Enclosure team works primarily throughout Colorado and neighboring states, with clients across the country. Our projects focus on commercial and multifamily residential buildings. We are seeking a self-motivated Building Enclosure Project Manager with a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and an interest in energy efficiency and sustainable building performance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent AEC industry experience will also be considered
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in building enclosure design, construction, commissioning, consulting, or testing
  • Strong knowledge of building science principles, enclosure systems, construction practices, and common failure mechanisms across varied building types and climate zones
  • Experience performing technical reviews of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and enclosure details.
  • Experience performing or overseeing building enclosure field observations and performance testing, including whole-building airtightness testing, water penetration testing, infrared thermography, and air/water/thermal barrier inspections.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards, including IECC, IBC, ASTM, and AAMA

  • Experience with IECC building thermal envelope performance verification and air leakage testing
  • Experience with existing building enclosure consulting, including condition assessments, investigative testing, and development of repair or improvement recommendations
  • Familiarity with THERM, WUFI, or other building enclosure analytical tools and methods
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Relevant professional credentials or certifications, such as PE, EIT, RA, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, BECxP, CxA+BE, or LEED AP
