Career Development – ICE Mentor

Internships do not always include mentorship; however, we believe it is a crucial part to the success of our program. ICE interns are paired with more experienced staff members in order to provide guidance and support throughout the internship process. They will report directly to a Professional Engineer who will provide regular feedback, special training, guidance, evaluation, and support. The PE will provide information about their career path, as well as assisting the intern with exploring career opportunities at the firm, setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources. In addition, interns will work with EIT’s who will aid in their development. We foster collaborative learning environment where interaction with our dedicated team of engineers encourages students to develop ideas and make mistakes. Collaborative learning also involves learning from peers and fellow interns. The primary goal of the internship is to gain as much infrastructure design experience as possible. While an intern may not have major tasks assigned to them, they should pay close attention to all the steps that go into completing the project. At the end of the internship, the intern should be confident to individually manage project tasks and work independently. ICE’s dedicated recruiting team will assist the intern with full‑time employment opportunities, once they are ready to graduate.

Expected Hours Of Work

The internship offers a structured work schedule of up to 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:0 AM to 5:00 PM (subject to change).
