Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and grounds in acceptable condition.
• Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, bleachers, blinds and stadium.
• Use equipment for scrubbing, buffing and waxing floors.
• Disinfect and restock restrooms.
• Prepare for and clean up after events in the building.
• Operate carpet cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Move furniture and equipment as directed by the head custodian or principal.
• Maintain grounds appearance including shrubs, grass, parking areas and drives.
• Respond to staff requests in a timely manner.
• Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator.

Experience Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and appropriate use of supplies and equipment
• Ability to operate various equipment used for cleaning floors and carpets
• Must be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbal

Working Conditions

• Regular exposure to weather including heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity

Physical Demands

• Typically requires climbing ladders; pushing and/or pulling
• Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to operate equipment used to clean floors and carpets
• Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull in excess of 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
