Position Overview

The Building Custodian is responsible for the repair, maintenance, cleanliness, and neatness of the school building and grounds. The role supports property preservation, health and safety, and the educational environment.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain cleanliness and perform routine maintenance tasks.
2. Manage seasonal grounds work, including snow removal and lawn care.
3. Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
4. Perform duties as directed by the Principal or designee, and adhere to policies of the Haverhill School Committee.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Previous custodial experience, preferably in a school setting, is desired.
• Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and moving in and out of various facilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively.

Additional qualifications may be considered at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.
