Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an Instructor to deliver approved curriculum in Building Construction Trades, guiding students through hands-on learning and assessments while integrating technology to enrich instruction.

You will facilitate activities, provide mentorship, and evaluate student progress, with expectations for evening/weekend summer assignment as needed, aligned to TSTC core values of excellence, accountability, service, and integrity.

Qualifications

• Verifiable work experience in Building Construction Trades.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, specifications and contracts.
• Solid knowledge of construction safety and PPE rules.
• Experience estimating and scheduling construction projects.
• Ability to manage projects and lead teams.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate learning.
• Develop syllabi and instructional plans; organize daily classes.
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Advise students and collaborate with Student Success to improve retention.
• Promote program recruitment and engagement with the community.
