Job summary

Integra Testing Services, LLC is seeking a Commissioning Technician to perform building commissioning for commercial, institutional, and educational facilities. This role requires independence on projects, strong HVAC/controls knowledge, and willingness to travel up to 50% across WA and neighboring states.

You will review procedures, assist in creating owner requirements, and support startup and testing activities with a team while meeting project schedules.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in building commissioning, HVAC, and related testing.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, hydronics, and energy systems.
• Ability to develop test procedures from contract documents and specs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create or review test procedures based on drawings and specs.
• Design Owner’s Project Requirements documentation.
• Assist in preparing checklists for installation verification and FAT/PF testing.
• Perform field verification of equipment install and startup; document issues.
• Witness or supervise equipment startups as needed.

Job Description

The Commissioning Technician will serve as a valuable member of our team, working on multiple concurrent projects performing building commissioning services for both new construction and existing facilities for commercial, institutional, and educational buildings. The Commissioning Technician will work closely in a team environment on multiple projects but must be able to work independently when required and adhere to schedules.

***We have openings for Commissioning Technicians AND Commissioning Authorities. Pay scale can increase beyond listed range for those with advanced Commissioning certifications/experience.***

What You Will Be Doing

• You have the ability to independently create, or review test procedures based on contract Documents, specifically drawings and specifications
• You get to design documentation such as Owner’s Project Requirements
• You must understand industry standards-based best practices
• You get to assist the Commissioning Engineer in preparing checklists for installation verification and functional performance testing of equipment and integrated systems
• Perform field verification of equipment installation and startup, document commissioning issues
• You supervise or witness equipment startups, as needed

What You Will Need for Success

• 5-7 years of experience of building commissioning, HVAC, Automatic Temperature Controls, and/or Testing and Balancing
• Strong fundamentals in HVAC, hydronics, automatic temperature controls and renewable energy systems design, installation, and operations
• HVAC: Hands-on experience in testing, start-up and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, including but not limited to cooling towers, chillers, packaged roof top units, ERUs, DOAS, AHUs, VRFs, VFDs, for hospitals, schools, commercial and institutional buildings.
• Electrical (additional): Hands-on experience with equipment such as emergency generators, ATS, UPS, PDUs and power monitoring systems desired
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Travel 50%
