Job summary

City of Royse City is seeking a Building Inspector to perform a variety of inspection tasks and plan examinations to enforce building codes and regulations for residential and commercial projects.

You will coordinate with City officials and the public, interpret complex plans, and oversee the permitting process. This role requires strong communication and knowledge of applicable codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of inspecting/review experience.
• Valid Class C Texas driver license.
• Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Plumbing Inspector License.
• ICC Building Inspector certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential and commercial inspections at various construction stages and enforce codes.
• Perform Certificate of Occupancy inspections.
• Review and interpret building plans and applicable codes.
• Explain requirements to architects, contractors, engineers and the public.
