Job summary

YMCA of Rapid City is seeking a Building Cleanliness Technician to keep our facilities clean, safe and welcoming for members and visitors. You will follow YMCA and OSHA safety policies, maintain equipment, and complete assigned custodial tasks under supervision, including towel distribution and locker room monitoring.

The role requires at least 18 years old, basic reading and device use, and CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.

• Basic proficiency in reading and utilizing electronic devices.

As a Building Cleanliness Technician, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring that every member and visitor experiences a welcoming and hygienic environment.

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies and practices, maintaining equipment and supplies to minimize replacement costs, and completing assigned projects with accuracy and efficiency. You'll perform day-to-day custodial tasks under the guidance of your supervisor, including but not limited to distributing towels, monitoring locker rooms, and reporting maintenance issues promptly. Your ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members, and staff will be essential in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

The hours for this position are typically Monday through Friday from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am. Part time hours are also available three days a week, 5:30 pm to 1:30 am or on a Monday through Friday schedule with reduced hours 5:30pm to 10:00pm. To qualify for this position, you must be at least 18 years old and possess six months or more of related experience, although we welcome applicants with varying levels of experience and backgrounds. Basic proficiency in reading and utilizing electronic devices is required, along with CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
