Job summary

ESS Building Based Substitute Opening at North Schuylkill SD in Ashland, PA is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support daily classroom instruction when the regular teacher is unavailable.

You will implement lesson plans, support student understanding, and help maintain classroom routines, safety, and order. Mandatory clearances and certifications are required to ensure compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and PA teacher certification required.
• PA Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification required.
• PA Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History Clearance required.
• Act 114 Federal Criminal History Clearance required.
• Act 126 Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training required.
• Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance required.
• Act 71 Suicide Prevention Training required.
• Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release required.
• Tuberculosis test required.
• Physical may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.
