  • Delivers instruction and implements lesson plans in line with District’s goals to ensure success for all students.
  • Supervises students in school related settings.
  • Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
  • Supports students in whole class, small group and individual settings using various teaching methods.
  • Adapts instruction delivery to best meet the needs of all students.
  • Communicates with students, staff, and families.
  • Follows and supports all District and school policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Meets with the appropriate Administrator and becomes orientated to school policies and procedures such as attendance, discipline, schedules, emergency evacuation and incident response.
  • Supervises students to ensure their safety and welfare.
  • Reports any student related injury, accident, illness, discipline problem Administration immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Reports in writing on the days activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
  • Participates in all District provided Professional Development.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the position including all student and school personnel information.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the building administrator.

The Building Based Substitute Teacher will work to enable each student to pursue their education by providing instruction and appropriately managing the classroom environment in the absence of the assigned classroom teacher.

Terms of Employment
  • Rate: Licensed under Department of Elementary & Secondary Education = $23.47/hour. Not licensed = $21.43/hour.
  • Reports to: School Principal or Designee.
  • Benefits: Paid Holidays, 2 Sick Days per school year, All District sponsored benefits such as Medical Insurance.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent moving about classroom, bending, squatting, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds. May need to assist students with personal care such as feeding and diapering.
