Job summary

Manatal is seeking a Building Automation System Technician to support startup, programming, and commissioning of BAS projects across multiple sites in the Houston area. You will develop databases, graphics, and sequences and troubleshoot field issues.

The role requires 2+ years BAS experience, familiarity with Distech, Niagara, Alerton, or Tridium, and the ability to read schematics and work in the field; travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in building automation controls, HVAC controls, or related systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on controls programming and database management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to start-up, programming, and commissioning for building automation environments.
• Intermediate proficiency with Distech, Niagara, Alerton, Tridium.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Understanding of AC power distribution, breakers, transformers, and multi‑phase power systems.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate controls of systems start-up, programming, and commissioning for building automation projects using Distech, Alerton, Tridium, Niagara, and related control platforms.
• Develop controls databases, graphics, and programming sequences according to project specifications, design documents, and operational requirements.
• Provide accurate controls of systems start-up, programming, and commissioning for building automation including complete point‑to‑point verification and checkout procedures.
• Verify proper operation of alarms, annunciation, devices, control panels, field equipment, and system communication networks.
• Support installation personnel and field technicians throughout project execution.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers to provide accurate controls of systems start‑up, programming, and commissioning for building automation systems.
