Job summary

Open Control Systems (OCS), part of the Envelop Group family, seeks an experienced HVAC Controls Technician to lead start-up, commissioning, programming and testing of commercial building automation projects in the Central Florida area, including Orlando and the Space Coast.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot, collaborate with HVAC technicians and electricians, maintain documentation, and support customers with system operation while upholding safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Building Automation/DDC start-up and commissioning experience.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation principles.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting BAS platforms including Tridium Niagara, Siemens, and Alerton.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Lonworks, etc.
• Knowledge of IP networking, switches, and system integration.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and project plans.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and program BAS controllers, sensors, actuators and related devices.
• Commission systems, perform point-to-point testing and optimization.
• Read electrical schematics, control diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform maintenance and system updates for performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with HVAC technicians and electricians for seamless integration.
• Complete on-site paperwork: time sheets, reports, and status updates.
• Provide technical support to customers and explain system operation.
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
