Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Building Automation Systems Technician III at the Main Campus in Cleveland. You will install, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain various Building Automation Systems onsite and remotely.

The role requires Niagara 4 certification, 7+ years in BAS/DDC and IT/OT, and strong knowledge of BACnet and related protocols. Expect dayshift, with responsibilities across multiple facilities within the Cleveland Clinic system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Niagara 4 TCP certification required.
  • 7+ years in Direct Digital Control (DDC), BAS, IT/OT, pneumatic systems or related fields with Niagara framework experience.
  • Strong BAS software protocol knowledge (BACnet, LonWorks, Comm4, N2, P2).
  • IT/OT infrastructure understanding related to BAS networks.
  • Strong customer service and teaching skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and analyze system malfunctions and operational requirements.
  • Read, write, modify and maintain automated building software and hardware.
  • Provide technical insight on Niagara analytic platform.
  • Maintain BAS user access (Active Directory, SAML SSO).
  • Ensure safe and effective operations and working environment.
  • Respond to alarms, sensors, and alerts; adjust alarms to reduce fatigue.
  • Monitor, inspect, calibrate and maintain sensors, meters and gauges.
  • Maintain inventory and records for sensors and control devices.
  • Work at other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

As Building Automation Systems Technician III, you will install, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain various Building Automation Systems onsite and via remote connections.

A caregiver in this position works days Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Troubleshoot, analyze and advise on system malfunctions and operational requirements.
  • Read, write, modify and maintain automated building software and hardware for designated systems.
  • Provide technical insight on Niagara analytic platform.
  • Maintain BAS user access including but not limited to Microsoft Active Directory and SAML Single Sign-On.
  • Ensure safe and effective operations and working environment.
  • Respond to alarms, sensors, and alerts appropriately.
  • Modify alarms to reduce alarm fatigue for end users.
  • Monitor, Inspect, maintain and calibrate all temperature, humidity and recording devices including meters and gauges.
  • Maintain inventory and records for sensor and control devices related to digital and pneumatic systems.
  • Work at other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Tridium Niagara 4 Technical Certification Program (TCP) certification through Tridium
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working within one or more of the following areas: installation, maintenance or repair of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Information Technology, Operational Technology, Pneumatic Systems, lighting controls or other related fields including 1 year of experience using the Niagara framework in a role as a Building Automation Systems (BAS) integrator
  • Advanced knowledge of BAS software protocols, i.e., BACnet, LonWorks, Comm4, N2, and P2
  • Working knowledge and understanding of IT and OT infrastructures related to BAS network.
  • Strong customer service background and teaching skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Software

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Niagara 4 Advanced Technical Certification Program certification or Niagara 4 Analytic certification through Tridium

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
  • Ability to climb ladders
