Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Service Specialist to support our Norfolk, VA customers with building automation systems and preventive maintenance. You will execute service strategies, coordinate with internal teams, and deliver on-site support, while adhering to safety policies.

Ideal candidates have electro-mechanical experience, are physically capable of field work, and can lift up to 75 pounds. The role requires a US work authorization and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Electro-mechanical experience or education required.
  • Willing to work at heights and in ducts, including climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and use hand tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies.
  • Collaborate with Service Sales, Client Service Managers, and regional teams.
  • Follow safety requirements and complete required training.
  • Respond to service calls and perform repairs on automation systems.
  • Maintain service ticket documentation and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform system checkout and startup on projects.
  • Engage in rotational on-call and potential overnight travel.
  • Work at customer locations, including construction sites with typical noise.

Our Service Specialists conduct service agreement tasks, scheduled maintenance assignments and project support to ensure the building automation systems inside buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities are properly maintained and operating correctly.Our Service Specialists are the face of Siemens,and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.

As a Service Specialist, you will:

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies

  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and Region Americas Digital Service Center personnel

  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers

  • Successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path

  • Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standards and maintains tools and test equipment

  • Respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned. Perform\ repairs as directed on all automation system types

  • Be responsible for completing service ticket documentation per the policy and follow preventive maintenance schedules

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports within Siemens tools

  • Perform system checkout and startup on projects and other duties as assigned

  • Rotational On-Call and/or Minimal Overnight Travel - Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments

  • Work is generally performed at customer locations in a local area and may include time spent on construction site, which may have a moderate noise level and regular distractions

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

_Basic Qualifications:_ __

  • Electro-mechanical experience (either through previous experience or education) and user PC/software skill

  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions

  • Must be willing and able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED

The pay range for this position is $42,340 - $72,583 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
