Job summary

Honeywell Building Automation in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Building Automation Project Manager to oversee data center installation projects and integration with building automation systems. Hybrid work from the Charlotte office with frequent travel to project sites in Hickory, NC.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in project or program management in data centers or building automation, with budgeting, forecasting, and risk management experience, plus a degree.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project / program management experience in building automation systems, data centers, equipment installations, or related fields.
• 2+ years of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage data center installation projects with building automation integration.
• Lead the program management function for multiple building automation initiatives.
• Develop and implement best practices, standards, and performance metrics.
• Ensure projects adhere to IPDS processes, budgets, schedules, and compliance.
• Drive resource planning, capacity analysis, and forecasting for efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate risks in data center deployments and automation projects.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to the program management team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors for seamless execution.
• Manage cross-functional communication between engineering, operations, and IT teams.
• Monitor progress to deliver on time and on budget while optimizing cost, quality, and safety.
• Drive continuous process improvements and innovation in automation and data centers.

Job Description

As a Building Automation Project Manager, you will oversee and manage the successful execution of new data center installation projects and building automation programs. You will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and project delivery while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in program management, strategic planning, and risk mitigation will be essential in delivering high-impact solutions for our customers. You will report directly to Program Manager, and you’ll work out of Charlotte, NC office on a hybrid work schedule. You will frequently travel to the project site’s in Hickory, NC.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage cross-functional communication between engineering, operations, and IT teams.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery while optimizing cost, quality, and safety.
• Continuously drive process improvements and innovation in building automation and data center operations.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• 3+ years of project / program management experience in building automation systems, data centers, equipment installations, or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license.
