Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Systems Specialist to join our on-site team in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will install, start up, and commission building automation systems, ensuring alignment with project scope and sequence of operations.

You will interact with customers regularly, document commissioning activities, and support energy and cost-saving outcomes for facilities. A strong on-site presence and OSHA-compliant safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
• Electro-mechanical experience and PC/software skills.
• Ability to read and interpret design/construction documents.
• Willingness to work in various on-site environments and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines.
• Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader.
• Assist with data backup from data servers and automated backup procedures.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in functions or sequence of operations.
• Set up and configure PC workstations and user interfaces.
• Support customer acceptance and training on system operations.
• Submit routine written reports and provide plans and control system documents for as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors for startup services.

Our S ystem s Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment that has been newly installed and supports the verification of the system database and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and sequence of operations. Our S ystems Specialists are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.

As a S ystems Specialist , you will:

• Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines. Documents commissioning details;communicatesdeficiencies and progress
• Plan work with LeadTechnician, andTeam Leader
• Network technologies: Assists with data back-up from data servers and the creation of automated back-up procedures. Supports troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations.Assistswith the set-up and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces
• Support the confirmation of proper network performance
• Operational testing, verification, and acceptance: Runs routine reports to review system operation. Participates in final inspection and testing. Supports customer acceptance.Assistswith customer trainingonsystem operations
• Complete andsubmitroutinewrittenreports. Provides plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
• Project site communication and coordination: May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate startup services. Submitsaccuratetime and expense reports
• Workover time when needed(Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)
• Work rotational on-call and/or minimal overnight travel
• Adhereto local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

• 1+ yearsofexperience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
• Electro-mechanicalexperience(eitherina previousrole or througheducation) and user PC/software skill
• On-the-job experiencereading, understanding, and interpreting design and constructiondocuments
• Abilityand willingnessto work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high liftequipment,working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in variousconditions
• Must be ableand willingto use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as carryingand movingequipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Experience withMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Abilityand willingnessto work overtime asneeded
• Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limitedviolations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without companysponsorship

The pay range for this position is $54,121 - $92,779 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
