Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Fremont, CA seeks a Systems Specialist to install, startup, and commission building automation equipment, ensuring the system operates according to design.

You will collaborate with the Lead Technician and Team Leader, perform testing, document commissioning activities, and support customer training while adhering to safety policies and schedules. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year installing/servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • Electro-mechanical experience and basic PC/software skills.
  • Read and interpret design/construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites.
  • Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader.
  • Assist with data backup and network performance checks.
  • Support verification of system operations and customer training.
  • Prepare reports and as-built documentation for engineering.
  • Coordinate startup services with subcontractors and teams.
  • Work overtime and occasional overnight travel as needed.
  • Adhere to safety policies and work in a team environment.

Our S ystem s Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment that has been newly installed and supports the verification of the system database and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and sequence of operations. Our S ystems Specialists are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.

As a S ystems Specialist , you will:

  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines. Documents commissioning details;communicatesdeficiencies and progress
  • Plan work with LeadTechnician, andTeam Leader
  • Network technologies: Assists with data back-up from data servers and the creation of automated back-up procedures. Supports troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations.Assistswith the set-up and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces
  • Support the confirmation of proper network performance
  • Operational testing, verification, and acceptance: Runs routine reports to review system operation. Participates in final inspection and testing. Supports customer acceptance.Assistswith customer trainingonsystem operations
  • Complete andsubmitroutinewrittenreports. Provides plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
  • Project site communication and coordination: May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate startup services. Submitsaccuratetime and expense reports
  • Workovertime when needed(Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)
  • Work rotational on-call and/or minimal overnight travel
  • Adhereto local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ yearsofexperience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
  • Electro-mechanicalexperience(eitherina previousrole or througheducation) and user PC/software skill
  • On-the-job experiencereading, understanding, and interpreting design and constructiondocuments
  • Abilityand willingnessto work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high liftequipment,working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in variousconditions
  • Must be ableand willingto use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as carryingand movingequipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
  • Experience withMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Abilityand willingnessto work overtime asneeded
  • Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limitedviolations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without companysponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED;Associate or Bachelor’sdegree inelectronics, mechanical engineering, or related
