Job summary

Air Group LLC is seeking a Building Automation and Controls Estimator for a full-time, on-site role in Whippany, NJ. You will estimate HVAC/BA systems, review project docs, and work with design engineers, PMs, vendors and customers from bid to award.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years HVAC estimating experience, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Travel to sites is required; daytime hours with potential extra time as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC estimating or service and controls field experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, materials and installation practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review specs, blueprints and documents to determine scope and cost.
• Develop detailed HVAC cost estimates for new, renovated or retrofitted projects.
• Communicate with owners, general contractors, engineers and vendors throughout bidding.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project scope and schedule.
• Prepare bids and proposals with detailed HVAC scopes and compliance with standards.
• Identify risks in project docs and work with teams to mitigate costs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and propose process improvements.
