Comfort Systems USA Ohio is seeking a Building Automation Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and troubleshoot commercial BAS/DDC systems in the Cincinnati region.

The role requires hands-on BAS experience, knowledge of BACnet/Modbus, and the ability to travel to customer sites. Relocation is not offered, and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS), DDC systems, or HVAC controls.
• Experience programming, configuring, commissioning, or troubleshooting commercial BAS control systems.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, systems, and control strategies.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or similar building automation communication protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, sequences of operation, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot BAS controllers, programming, networks, communication issues, system integrations, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, project specifications, and sequences of operation to understand project requirements.
• Develop and interpret HVAC control sequences for commercial building automation projects.
• Support BAS system architectures, control strategies, network layouts, point lists, and equipment requirements.

• Commissioning: startup, testing, functional validation, and issue resolution.

• Provide technical guidance to field technicians and project teams.

Building Automation Controls Engineer (BAS/HVAC)Cincinnati, OH | In-Office PositionComfort Systems USA Ohio is seeking an experienced Building Automation Controls Engineer to support commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, DDC programming, system integration, and commissioning projects throughout the Cincinnati region.This position is specifically focused on commercial building automation and HVAC control systems. It is not a manufacturing automation, robotics, or PLC-focused controls engineering position.We are looking for someone with hands-on experience designing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting commercial BAS/DDC systems. Experience with Tridium Niagara or other leading commercial building automation platforms is highly valued.This position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and requires regular work from the Cincinnati office as well as travel to local customer and project sites. Relocation assistance is not available.
