The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Building Attendant I to help maintain facilities across patient care and prevention areas in Houston.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks in assigned areas
• Inspect spaces to identify needs and ensure quality standards
• Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Record and report cleaning activities to supervisors
• Collect and dispose of trash, sharps, and special waste
• Support floor care including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing
• Maintain cleaning equipment in satisfactory condition
• Comply with all institutional policies and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

The Facilities Management department delivers essential services such as operations, maintenance, housekeeping, environmental health and safety, emergency management, and construction to ensure safe, clean, and functional environments.

As a Building Attendant I, you will help maintain these standards across patient care and prevention facilities.

The ideal candidate for Building Attendant I is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn infection prevention and safety practices.

Salary Range: Minimum $18.00 - Midpoint $20.54 - Maximum $23.07

In this role, you are considered ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL.

Please Note: You may be required to transport Covid-19 suspected and/or positive trash. You will be provided with appropriate Protective Equipment (PPE). The required PPE will involve a Fit Test. Proper fitting may necessitate trimming or shaving facial hair because beard growth or facial hair prevents the necessary seal between the respirator and the face.
