Job description

The City of Moorhead Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the following position at the Hjemkomst Center:

Building Attendant ($16.00-$18.00)

Part-time position is responsible for various maintenance and landscaping tasks at the Hjemkomst Center, including:

  1. Opening building as directed
  2. Preparing facility for staff and customer arrival
  3. Cleaning the facility
  4. Setting up for meetings
  5. Light maintenance tasks
  6. Maintaining the grounds by the use of landscaping equipment

Previous grounds keeping experience preferred.
Hours: Generally, Monday-Wednesday 8:00am-4:30pm, with occasional early evenings. Approximately 24-30 hours per week. Occasional weekend work for assistance with events and boiler checks. Must be available to work the weekend of June 19th-21st for the annual Scandinavian Festival.

Must have good communication skills and reliable transportation. Some heavy lifting required, up to 50lbs. Age 18 or older. Position starts May 12th-Labor Day.

The City provides temporary/seasonal employees Earned Sick and Safe Leave (ESST) according to MN Statute 181.9445 to 181.9448. Employees may also be eligible for Minnesota Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) benefits per eligibility based on MN State Statute Chapter 353.
